Cornell University is hosting the 4th Annual Summer Institute, from 24 July to 4 August 2017, which brings together experts from the World Health Organization (WHO), Cochrane, and Cornell University to train participants in the development of systematic reviews of nutrition interventions in populations.

Cochrane Nutrition held a stakeholder meeting on 3 April 2017 in Geneva with the aim of developing an initial list of priority topics for nutrition evidence synthesis. This will help Cochrane Nutrition establish a strategic plan to guide review production and dissemination; build and support review teams; and, strengthen methods for synthesising nutrition evidence over the next three years. The consultation involved representatives from various stakeholder groups within and outside of Cochrane with an interest in nutrition evidence synthesis.

A workshop was presented by Cochrane Nutrition in Cape Town on 31 August 2016 as part of World Nutrition 2016, a conference organised by the World Public Health Nutrition Association.

In September 2016 Cochrane Nutrition presented a workshop on evidence-informed nutrition at the National Nutrition Congress in Somerset West outside Cape Town.Through an interactive approach, the workshop addressed the principles of evidence‐informed nutrition, understanding the differences between systematic and traditional narrative reviews, and on how to read and interpret systematic reviews.The workshop was attended by stakeholders from national government and the private and academic sectors.
